Acesta a fost urmat de alte două seisme în Marea Neagră, unul de 4,2 şi celălalt, de 4,4 grade, pe scara Richter. Cutremurul a fost resimţit şi în Dobrogea, în Constanţa, însă şi-a mai pierdut din intensitate, având doar 3,4 grade, pe Richter. Nu au fost înregistrate pagube materiale. În ultimele luni, Marea Neagră a fost epicentrul mai multor cutremure “E pentru a doua oară, în decurs de câteva luni, când se produce un cutremur în Marea Neagră. În luna august a acestui an a fost unul de 5,3 grade pe scara Richter. Seismele mari din această zonă au loc o dată la aproximativ 500 de ani”, a declarat Gheorghe Mărmureanu, directorul Institutului de Fizica Pământului. Activitatea seismică a luat-o razna anul acesta În mod normal, în România se produc între 10 şi 15 cutremure mici, între 2 şi 4 grade pe Richter, în fiecare lună. Also helping him is Malik (Om Puri). He believes that capturing Singania's dangerous and elusive lieutenant, Don, (Shahrukh Khan), will be the most effective way of accomplishing this. Don's gang consist of Narang (Pawan Malhotra) and Anita (Isha Koppikar). Soon, Roma (Priyanka Chopra) joins them but she has other plans - kill Don. Don was responsible for killing her brother Ramesh as well as his fiancee, Kamini (Kareena Kapoor). During a chase with the police the real Don is critically injured and is captured by DeSilva. He keeps it a secret that he has captured Don, even from his fellow officers, and tracks down a look-alike called Vijay, a lowly singer (also played by Shahrukh Khan). He asks Vijay to infiltrate Don's gang by pretending to be Don. In return he will make sure that the child Vijay found and adopted, Deepu (who is the son of Jasjit played by Arjun Rampal) gets a proper education. Meanwhile Jasjit who has just been released from prison sets out in search for his son, Deepu, and to get his revenge on DSP DeSilva who arrested him and prevented him from rescuing his wife and child from black mailers, this in turn killed his wife and left his son missing. Isha Koppikar and Priyanka Chopra {l-r} in the song Aaj Ki RaatDeSilva trains Vijay and admits him in a hospital (in which Don is also admitted and supposedly in coma) to surgically give him all the scars and birthmarks the real Don has on his body. However Don dies of heart failure suddenly in front of DeSilva and the doctors, who are unable to save him. While Vijay is infiltrating Don's gang, DeSilva is captured and killed in a fire blast; and Vijay is forced to run from the police as well as Don's gang members -- pursuing the last piece of evidence (a disc) which has all of Don's criminal activities loaded on it, a disc which can get him out of this mess. Through various plot twists, Vijay recovers the disc. Eventually, it surfaces that DeSilva is alive and is actually Vardhan, a notorious underground criminal with a grudge against Singhania, Don's boss, and eventually ends up killing him. Vijay arranges a meeting with Vardhan and assists in his capture. In a final twist, it emerges that the real Don is still alive, and was pretending to be Vijay who he killed and replaced while in the hospital. It was actually Vijay who had died in the hospital of heart failure in front of Vardhan. In the end both Don and his girlfriend Anita (Isha Koppikar) escape, bewildering the police and Roma. In acest caz, banii din investitie ar fi fost recuperati foarte repede, insa marea castigatoare a fost Turcia. In final, nici Romania nu a ramas pe afara, deoarece tara noastra va gazdui finala UEFA Europa League (noul format al Cupei UEFA), ediţia 2011-2012. Oamenii de stiinta de la Institutul de Genetic Medicala al Universitatii Jioa Tong din Shanghai au anuntat ca au obtinut soareci viabili si fertili pornind de la celule dermice pluripotente, reprogramate genetic pentru a se comporta precum celulele stem embrionare. Soarecii astfel obtinuti au ajuns la maturitate si s-au reprodus, demonstrand ca organismul lor functioneaza normal. Un articol cuprinzand detalii asupra experimentelor urmeaza sa fie publicat in prestigioasa revista stiintifica Nature. Independent, un alt grup de cercetatori chinezi a anuntat, in revista Cell Stem Cell, ca a obtinut soareci in urma unor experimente implicand reprogramarea celuleleor pluripotente din piele. Celulele stem embrionare au o capacitate unica - aceea de a putea da nastere oricarui tip de tesut si organ din organismul animal. Insa aceste celule sunt dificil de obtinut si necesita utilizarea unor embrioni. Reprogramarea unor celule pluripotente din piele este o cale alternativa, posibil mai eficienta, pentru a obtine tesuturi, organe si chiar organisme intregi, cum e cazul sorecilor obtinuti de savantii chinezi. Celulele dermice pluripotente reprogramate au fost obtinute in urma unor experimente realizate in 2006 si 2007 la Univeristatea din Kyoto, Japonia, de catre dr. Shinya Yamanka; acesta a introdus in celule 4 gene datorita carora celulele pluripotente din piele dobandeau aceleasi proprietati ca si celulele stem embrionare. Astfel, erau eliminate controversele etice legate de utilizarea in experimente a celulelor prelevate de la embrioni. Dar, pana in prezent, nu se demonstrase ca aceste celule dermice modificate puteau functiona cu adevarat la fel ca si celulele stem embrionare. Experimentele savantilor chinezi au confirmat ca acest fapt este posibil. Desi experimentele ridica probleme etice privind posibilitatea de a obtine, in viitor, organisme clonate (inclusiv umane) pornind de la celule dermice reprogramate genetic, cercetatorii chinezi de la Universitatea din Shanghai au respins ideea, preferand sa scoata in evidenta latura pozitiva a acestor experimente. Ei spera ca, in viitor, sa se obtina tesuturi si organe pentru transplanturi, utilizand propriile celule ale pacientului, reprogramate corespunzator. Prof Zeng, seful echipei de geneticieni, a declarat ca nu ar fi etic ca aceste celule reprogramate sa fie utilizate in reproducerea umana si sa ca este important ca in stiinta sa existe limite etice. Alti cercetatori subliniaza ca mai sunt inca foarte multe multe lucruri de aflat despre comportamentul acestor celule reprogramate si despre modul in care vor evolua organismele provernite din ele. Profesorul Andrew Elefanty, de la Monash Immunology and Stem Cell Laboratories din Melbourne, Australia, a amintit ca reprogramarea celulelor se face prin introducerea in ele a unor noi gene cu ajutorul unor virusuri, despre care se stie ca in anumite cazuri, pot predispune la aparitia tumorilor.

Tomografiile a peste 1.000 de pacienti au dezvaluit o incidenta de pana la 70% mai mare a aparitiei sangerarilor microscopice la nivelul creierului, in randul celor ce obisnuiesc sa ia aspirina sau medicamente relationate, in comparatie cu cei care nu folosesc aceste tratamente. Oamenii obisnuiesc sa foloseasca aspirina pe post de remediu universal, insa rezultatele noului studiu, publicate in “Archives of Neurology”, atentioneaza asupra riscului aparitiei microsangerarilor cerebrale.
